The London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) is the largest local authority archive in Britain. We are home to an unparalleled range of documents, maps, prints, drawings, plans, photographs and films detailing the change and continuity of London and Londoners. The collections cover the whole of Greater London, spanning nearly 1,000 years of history.
The immediacy of working with archives offers a unique way of bringing the past to life; our schools’ programme introduces students to archives and their role and relevance in society. We have an exciting range of free workshops suitable for key stages 1 to 4 and sixth form students. Our workshops span History, Science, Maths, literacy, Citizenship, Art and Geography.
